X Factor is currently a local super hero group in the area of Safe Harbor, Penn. They were formed after a group of friends found out that they had metahuman gifts. Their mentor Ambrosinus helps them by providing training and access to the place the group has called “The Sanctum”.

There are other forces out there at work to either capitalize on metahuman abilities or to eliminate the metahuman ‘threat’.

X Factor is hoping to stop such things. At the same time, their ‘normal’ identities have to deal with the normal issues of high school drama at an exclusive private school, Richard Sanders Institute for Higher Learning.

Most recently, the group has been invited to attend Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. This also means a reunion with one of the members of the group, Hector.
