Bio
Amara was aprenticed to a locksmith and general tinkerer named Ameranth at a shop called the Broken Lock. She was apprenticed with two others; a human male named Lynth and a male hafling named Jenner. Ameranth and the other apprentices were very fun loving and friendly and Amara quickly became close to all of them. Ameranth worked as a lock maker and repairer for all walks of life and occassionally developed traps and other security devices for those who could afford it. Amara remained at the shop for three years and loved every minute of it. She was nearing an end to her apprenticeship and was looking to remain with Amaranth as an assistant or open her own shop when the incident occurred. Amaranth had send Amara on an errand in town to pick up payment from a merchant. The merchant was not at the agreed upon spot and none in the area knew any merchant by the name of Travin. Frustrated, Amara returned to the shop to find it surrounded by torch wielding villagers and some soldiers intersperced among them. In horror she saw Amaranth being held down two soldiers. The townsfolk were yelling in glee calling him a monster and a demon. Amara called out to him desperately and tried to press through the aggitated throng with no thought to her safetly. The could only think of the kind and funny man who taught her everything and was like a second father to her. A general silence grew from where she stood as those around her recognised that she called out to Amaranth in love rather than hate. Amara did not heed the silence or the ominious import of it and continued crying out to him. Amaranth looked out to her sadly and shook his head. “leave” he mouthed and lowered his head as tears fell down his cheeks. As the soldier brought down his sword Amaranth said but one word: Cambyn. Amaranth was decapitated and the villagers turned on Amara screaming that she was another of the demon prodigy and pressed upon her to grab her. Amara had always been quick and nimble and managed to slip through the many hands and dart into a nearby ally. Amara had been running through the city for years now learning the quickest paths to her errands so now was a master at slipping through dark allies and hidden passages. It was only a matter of time before she eluded the clumpsy villagers. Amara fled the town that night taking only what she had on her. She ranged the area and tried to discover what became of her fellow apprenticies with little results as many were still looking for her. Amara ranged further away escaping the hard looks and the way people spat at the name of Amaranth. Amara’s only guiding light during those dark times were the words Travin and Cambyn. She grew desperate to untangle the mystery and save her beloved master’s name from such slander. There could be no misdeeds by Amaranth; she had been a part of everything and no secrets or hidden areas were ever seen. Amara was certain that he was the scapegoat in something greater. No respectible locksmith would have Amara and would soon call the guard on her when she tried to find work in the local areas. As Amara ranged further and further away from her home she found some work with Adventuring complanies but they were usually the sort who needed a locksmith apprenctice for less than honerable work. Amara gritted her teeth and pursued what work she could to survive and to build a nest egg to assist her with her search. Amara soon also became quite skilled at combat and her quick and nimble grace soon well lended itself toward scouting and taking opportune strikes against her enemies. Amara disliked much of her work and those she helped as she felt it was a bastardization of that which she had learned in better days. THus, Amara refused to stay with the companies past the initial jobs and payment and continued her private search for that which had been stolen from her. Amara still strains her ears for news of Jenner and Lynth but fears they were slaughtered with Amaranth. Amara also tries to find what the unknown merchant she was sent to and the last word upon Amaranth’s lips but lately has been left with little hope.
