Biography: Most of the Vindicators under his command simply believed that the Aurelius had cast a spell over John and Diane Styles. They couldn’t rationalize any other explanation for why the two would allow their 13-year-old daughter to risk her life traversing the world with a group of super-heroes, fighting the good fight against tyranny, injustice, and chaos.

Doctor S. Orpheus White was a thinking man and as such he realized if his team of Vindicators was going to succeed they would need an ace in the hole. He had learned of Natalie Style’s ability to warp and refract light through his mystical mediums. Natalie was a young girl blessed with an uncanny ability buried deep within her catalogue of powers. Using light, Natalie was able to heal almost any injury or malady.

As time passed the Aurelius taught the young hero more about her abilities- most of which came from his own theory. Under his instruction Natalie learned to turn herself invisible (by refracting light around her body) and how to see various portions of the spectrum- giving her vision various “settings”. She was grateful for his tutelage… but it was no replacement for the loss of her childhood.

Time on the battlefield forced Natalie to grow up fast and despite the age gap between her and her companions she was able to relate to each of them. The trouble was few saw past her age. In their downtime Aurelius and Phenomena began to date and Lodestone was occupied with his wife and son. Oynx began to date a civilian and Halogen was left with one companion… the archer known as Nock.

The two developed a friendship out of their status as kindred spirits… but the loneliness in Nock’s own heart soon embroiled the rest of him. He found himself tormented by romantic thoughts of his junior teammate- her a teenager and him an adult. Haunted by his growing infatuation with Halogen, Nock left the team. It was a chain reaction that led to the disbanding of that team of Vindicators and the birth of Natalie Style’s life.

She continued her education- eventually becoming a doctor of veterinary medicine. She had rationalized that animals didn’t suffer from prejudice and would not mind a Neo-Sapien using her powers to heal them- nor would they betray her new-found identity amongst civilians. Ultimately her longing to help young Neo-Sapiens through the period she herself had struggled through had brought her back around to the Vindicators- this time as an educator. She became one of the first teachers at the New Vindicators Academy of America- becoming more than an instructor to most of her pupils but a friend and confidant.
