Though too tall and stocky for a gnome, his beard is too short to be a dwarf. His cleric raiments are a bit odd, too.

Torund loved sparring in the sun. He loved risking the deep pools. Perhaps most disturbing, he would talk too much and ask too many questions. Overly quick to the defense of the helpless or even his own point-of-view, he suffered many beatings, both from bullies as well as from his parents. When Torund’s father disowned him, only the temple priest showed him charity.

Torund worked hard at the billows and studied the sacred texts, but the temple priest soon lost his patience. One day, a plain looking woman came to the temple and actually started a conversation. After several hours of her stories, Torund was enthralled and hardly noticed the old priest’s rod or the dinner of stale bread and water. When in a dream he was told to follow the women, he took off immediately. And so his suffering as a follower of Haela began.

Though still a boy, Torund is on a quest. The sisters have told him that he will know his quest when he completes it. His fuzz of a beard would embarrass a gnome, and he still coughs if he drinks spirits. And so he waits for his adventures to begin.
