Geography leads many to assume that the elves of Silvestri are an isolated race. Essentially a box canyon with a waterfall at each end, it is very difficult for visitors to travel to and from the Nation of the Silver Waters. For this reason, the royal family has a centuries old tradition called The Sojourn. This journey to the outside world ensures that each ruler can successfully lead the Silvestri through the many dangers that threaten to invade their peaceful valley.

As the youngest of twelve children in the royal family, it is unlikely that Lia will ever be called to serve as leader of her people. This is just fine with her. Let her siblings learn the ways of the court and crown and leave her with more time to explore the laws of magic. During her time as an apprentice to the royal wizard, she read of the mighty deeds of Bigby, Mordenkainen, and Tenser. More and more her attention drifted to the lands beyond the mountains. So it was with great excitement that Lia began her Sojourn with her dwarven companion Redgar.

Lia’s best friends have been the ancient tomes she has read and reread over the centuries. Though she may not have the social refinement of the typical princess, she is loyal to those she considers friends and deeply compassionate. She is a very clever spellcaster and has a reputation for using the most mundane spells to devasting effect against foes. She is not quite sure what to make of Redgar’s devotion to her safety. She worries that she may not be deserving of such attention and feels guilty that her journey has led him so far away from his home of Deepstone. She keeps her royal ancestory a closely guarded secret.
