Kandera Salters grew up in a good home with a loving family. His name, meaning ‘Sun Bringer’, was given to him because his parents believed that he was meant for something great. While in school, Kandera was given the nickname ‘Kandy’ and it stuck through him all through school and into his career in law enforcement. In 2004, Kandy witnessed a house explode while he was on a patrol. He quickly rushed to the burning building and raced inside, determined to rescue the family inside. As he entered the house, he ‘broke out’ and found that he could push the fire around him out of the way or take it away all together. After he rescued the family, he found that not only could he take existing flame away, but also create it himself.
