Aaron was a powerful vampiric creature long long ago. He lived many many years in the traditional shadows, feeding on the blood of sleeping mortals. It was after centuries of unlife that Aaron tried to feed upon the wrong mortal, for this was no ordinary person. This was an old gypsy woman who knew some mighty powerful curses. Aaron snuck into her camp late one winter night and tried to feed from the blood of her only granddaugther. The old women awoke when Aaron was mid drink and began cursing him. She told Aaron that for as long as he shall feed on the life force of humanity, he shall do so without teeth! The next evening, when Aaron awoke, his fangs where gone.

After that, Aaron starved for four nights before coming up with a solution. He approached a known magician of the king’s court and begged for his assistance. The mage, taken aback by the vampire’s plea, denied his aid. Night after night Aaron returned and sought the mages help. It wasn’t until Aaron was so weak and nearly dead that the mage finally gave into Aaron’s requests. The mage forged a special magical blade for Aaron, enchanted with the power to cut without killing but provide ample blood to spill. Aaron used his new tool for decades before an unlikely vampire hunter caught Aaron and killed him in the daylight. The blade was reforged into a barber’s straight razor and passed down from generation to generation.

Generations later, a descendant of that hunter discovered the secret powers of the blade and began working with a local magic man to construct a proper Strop for the blade. The strop cleaned the blood with a single pass and re-sharped the aged blade. Shortly after the man started carrying blade and Strop as a weapon, did another family steal the blade away. This has happened a few time through the ages, until tonight. The blade has been found in an old shipping crate down at Miami Port. I hear a family that believes itself descendants of the Vampire Hunter are aware and trying to get it, as is one of the families that carried the blade. Its properties have also caught the eyes of collectors and other miscreants. Beware the chase is on.
