Kristoff is a ranking priest for Gond. In his youth he was filled with the words of Jurgen who preached death to the non-human races in Firenz. He was gifted with the ability to make devices both magical and mechanical. He was the chief developer of the mass extermination devices and was rewarded with awards from the high priests.

He was on the fast track to a post until one day, he happened to be caught by a group of dwarves. Instead of being killed outright, the dwarves had a discussion with him about sanctity of life of all beings. A dwarvish priestess of Berronar named Dura spoke most eloquently to him. Kristoff took all this in and was converted.

His next project was a magical device that would teleport away his potiental victims. Although he would not know where the victims would be teleported to but it would be better than being disintegrated. He built the device and was sending various victims away but was betrayed by one of his associates. He was captured and put into prison but escaped with aid and is now living in Marelle aiding Duncan and Otto.
