The creators of Mechanus' populace, the Grand Artificers are timeless beings of long forgotten origin. Part construct, part elemental essence, they possess a unique perspective that can only be described as 'absolute lawful'. They pursue order to all things. Often this causes them to drift through a vast moral spectrum. Sometimes they can be appear good and noble in their endevours only to dramatically switch to merciless evil only possible by the infernal denizens of the Nine Hells. However, they never hold these extremes for long. They ultimately do what must be done to maintain the cosmos in balance and thus the pendulum must swing in order to achieve this. over eons the Grand Artificers have come to the conclusion that they have become the sole true arbitrators of the cosmos. That only through them can order be attained. Haveing a plane composed of obedient constructs, they have not yet been opposed.
