Proprietor of the “Glittering Orb” Magic Shop in New Tu’Banor. He hired the party to go to a forgotten tomb in the City of Dead Kings to recover a “magic stone” from the tribe of Lizardmen who now inhabit the tomb.

After the stone (the traveler’s stone) was recovered by the party, Marthis used it to create the staff of Romlynn the Wise, and refers to the staff as his “masterpiece”. Romlynn paid Marthis enough to craft the staff that he is reportedly closing up shop and retiring. He also donated a “large sum” of money to the Arcane Academy in New Tu’Banor.

The party later borrowed a magic boat form the shop proprietor with the promise of repaying the favor one day. This magic boat was later modified by Romlynn while visiting the Draconic Nations to be a dirigible airship which was named “the Jaren’s Jaunt”.

No one is sure what happened to Marthis after the fall of New Tu’Banor, but it’s a good bet that he safely escaped the devastation, and most likely has much of the vault from his shop and the academy in tact with him.
