Melgorith was the servant of Nogith, and quite a bit more opposing than his counterpart, Azrael. He not only wielded magic, but two massive greatswords wreathed in dark ethereal purple flames.

The party later discovers that the swords themselves are the vessel of the undead mage-warrior’s dark spirit, and whoever attempts to wield them must have the will to overpower him, or they become him in a devastating sort of physical possession in which the loser’s soul is consumed by the dark being.

The party eventually defated Melgorith after several attempts, and inadvertently releasing him from the blades in the High Temple in New Tu’Banor.
