Marie is the only heir to House Calisan. She keeps the family household and maintains the private library.

Marie was coerced into marrying Baron Arthur Kalzak, a portly fellow who was considered a good match for the aging house.

The shapeshifting of the house only usually shows itself on the male line but Marie learned the secret and spends some of her time in bird form, hunting and living the life of the wild.

She keeps some of her falcon children (who have no human blood) in a grand aviary. She plans to not let Kalzak’s heir (if there is to be one) be the inheirater of her family estate.
