Quotal Hand

A snake carved from ivory and gold, it seems alive

Quotal Hand

Author: Jennifer

Category: bracers

Game System: D&D (3.5)

Is Public?: Yes

Is Visible?: Yes

Description

The Quotal Hand can take over 1 concentration effect for the bearer. It can also share spells with the bearer like a familiar. It cannot be Identified.

The Quotal Hand has an incredibly virulent poisonous bite that can kill any creature of less than deity status (regardless of immunity to poisons or other special ability). The bite also transforms the victim’s corpse into solid gold, making it impossible to raise the victim. (Resurrection can still work.) The Quotal Hand only bites when it wishes to, however, this poison effect cannot be compelled.

Backstory

The only apparent purpose the quotal hand serves at this point is to hang onto someone’s wrist and not let go. Although it is carved from ivory and inlaid with gold, it seems alive: it breathes, moves, and occasionally its dark purple tongue flicks out to taste the air.
