Bio
Zeldrec “Zel” Rivan was born and grew up in the walled city of Stormhold. His parents, Thomas and Mirriam raised him into a fine young man with hearty fears for what lay beyond the city’s walls and for the king that resided within them. Like most boys who come of age, Zel joined the cities defense core and soon began to travel out of the city to patrol. It was during one of these missions that Zel had discovered a woman out among the swamps of Stormhold, staring up at the sky watching the lightning as the rain poured heavily down upon her. She was beautiful, with long red curls that clung to her, as he approached she turned and he was mesmerized with her sultry features and full figured curves. After finding her no threat Zel went about making a shelter for them to get out of the rain, being a boy of only 16 Zel couldn’t take his eyes from her and soon found his wildest wishes coming true. They made love in the tent, her cries of pleasure and passion coinciding with the lightning and thunder that raged outside, when morning had come the rain was gone as was his dream woman, only a silver chain with the charm of a lightning bolt and rain cloud remained where she had laid.
Zel returned home and quickly began asking about the city if anyone had seen his mysterious lover. As he would show them the necklace many would quickly turn him away without explanation. Weeks went by, when one morning Zel was told to report to King Maraxus, Zel had never seen him, let alone ever talk to the man, which only made his soon to be encounter even more curious and fearful. As Zel entered Maraxus’ chambers he was greeted with a deep booming voice as he bowed lowly causing the necklace to drop down, catching the eye of the king. Maraxus instantly recognizing the symbol for what it was was outraged, he damned Zel and demanded that he be exiled for his treason against the throne. The guardsmen that Zel had served with seized him drug him through the streets to the city gates, as Zel was thrown to the mud he looked up as the gates slowly crept shut and slammed closed. Zel was dumbfounded, what had he done he wondered, knowing his life in Stormhold over he made the journey to Sundry where after explaining his tale to a local priest his mistake was enlightened to him. Zel had openly worn the symbol of a diety in Stormhold, where the worship of them was outlawed. Having no where else to go, the old priest took Zel in and taught him the ways of Tempest, the very god who’s symbol he wore around his neck.
