Bio

Max Zedrow is an otherwise average human countless secrets to hide. He turned his back on inheriting his family’s fortune, taking over his father’s medical practice and living a life of luxury to travel the land researching the things that society looks down upon.

In one such adventure, he found himself traveling through the mountains and stuck in a sudden blizzard. Running low on supplies, and nearing the point of hypothermia, Max spotted a small village in the distance. He approached, feeling death’s grasp tightening around him, only to find a hostile goblin guard post with four goblins wrapped in animal hides pointing their spears at him.

Lacking the energy to fight, or explain himself, Max simply fell to the ground. He awoke a few days later inside of a primitive hut adorned with various reagents and magical implements. In the corner of the room sitting in an oversized chair an aged goblin took note of his return to consciousness. He grabbed his cane and hobbled towards the confused looking human and began speaking in goblin.

Max attempted to reply, but the common tongue apparently hadn’t reached this corner of the world. As the goblin nursed Max back to health, he slowly picked up on their speech patterns and soon enough was able to speak broken goblin and determined his savior was the village elder, shaman, and aspiring alchemist severely limited by the lack of technology in the mountains.

From spending countless hours as a child assisting his father in creating the potions and tinctures that created their family’s fortune, Max was able to show the shaman new techniques that were common sense to anyone with an education, but advanced knowledge to these primitive goblins. In return, the old goblin became his mentor and day by day slowly taught him how to harness the primal power that surrounds us, how to summon a spirit companion, and other remarkable feats. Max lived with the goblins for two years, until one day the goblin elder passed away. The village was wrought with suspicion, notably due to the rise in modern alchemy amongst their tribe since the human arrived. Sensing the uncomfortable mood of the other inhabitants of his presence, Max decided now was the time to move on.

Returning to the Academy, Max made no mention of his new found primal techniques, and just like his time spent with the druidic elves of far away forests, and a cult of vampires in the Imperial City underground. Wrapped in mystery, and only answering questions with the vaguest of responses, his knowledge of the primal arts was only intended for the pursuit of knowledge.
