Earth Mastery (Ex): Grumble gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls if both he and his foe are touching the ground. If an opponent is airborne or waterborne, he takes a –4 penalty on attack and damage rolls.

Push (Ex): Grumble can start a bull rush maneuver without provoking an attack of opportunity. The combat modifiers given in Earth Mastery also apply to his opposed Strength check (+2 base).

Earth Glide (Ex): Grumble can glide through stone, dirt, or almost any other sort of earth except metal as easily as a fish swims through water. His burrowing leaves behind no tunnel or hole, nor does it create any ripple or other signs of its presence. A move earth spell cast on an area containing a burrowing earth elemental flings the elemental back 30’, dazing the creature for 1 round unless it succeeds on a DC 15 Fort save.

Speak with Master (Ex): Grumble and Xelios can communicate verbally as if they were using a common language. Other creatures do not understand the communication without magical help. (Grumble usually chooses to speak with his master in Terran instead).

Bio

Like a walking mound of earth, this creature plods along on two featureless legs of rock and earth, its clublike arms of jagged stone swinging at its sides, and its featureless head staring blankly around.

Grumble was summoned by Xelios upon the evoker attaining proficiency with the third tier of arcane spells. “He” doesn’t seem overly thrilled by the arrangement but does begrudgingly follows orders.

Grumble was released from service upon Xelios death in the Shrine to the Sea Mother in the heart of Bhal-Hamatugn.
