Kaz was born to parents he never truly knew, growing up in the streets of Tokyo. His first memories were of the family he would learn to grow up with, the Yakuza. He took to the streets as a natural as he grew up, learning his way through his fists and, as he grew older, guns. He was never overly violent, though, he did to the limit as was necessary and no further, having an inkling in his mind that he had some deeper purpose.

His first piece of saving grace was the intervention of a well-meaning police officer who’d saved his life. He hadn’t known it at the time, but that officer was actually a herald of Susano-O, guiding him in the direction he was destined. Under the tutelage of the herald he cleaned up his life and moved into the police force. His herald disappeared without notice while he was on assignment, deep undercover infiltrating the Yakuza group that had originally raised him. The only note left him when he’d been able to check in solely said, “Your father is proud of you, he will let you know soon.”

Kaz’s true awakening came when his cover was blown, trapped in the gang’s hideout, alone, with twenty of the gang surrounding him, guns blazing. Everything came to a pause, a pedestal appearing before him, with a belt with two holsters, each carrying a larger handgun then he’d ever seen before. He donned the belt, which seemed to empower him, enough so that even the huge guns seem light and limber and well balanced in his hands. When he picked up the guns the pedestal vanished, being replaced by a man, Susano-O. “Save yourself, my son, and travel to America, your teacher will guide you once more.” And vanished as soon as he’d shown up.

Time resumed with Kaz well prepared, dodging down and swiftly dispatching the people around him, his backup arriving shortly thereafter. His cover having been blown he was discharged from the covert services, and following his father’s directive he travelled abroad to the US, meeting up with the herald that had originally directed him, who guided him to Las Vegas and the Moon Foundation.
