Lars is the leader of a small group of Roadwardens operating in southern Talabecland. Roadwardens can be thought of as government “contractors” that help keep the roads of the Empire safe. But many of these men, including Lars, are more like bounty hunters in that they search villages and roadside inns for wanted men. More often than not, they will arrest someone who’s innocent and accuse him/her of being a wanted criminal. This works well if the wardens are having a hard time finding someone and usually no one knows the difference anyway. All that matters to Lars and his men is that they get paid. Lars and his gang are currently operating on the Talabecland side of the River Stir, which serves as the border between Talabecland and Stirland. His authority comes from Captain Kurtz, but recently Kurtz is catching on to his unjust ways.

Update: Lars is currently in prison at the roadwardens’ HQ in Lieske. He was captured and brought in by the party for a bounty.
