Magsaid is the captain of the hobgoblin stronghold, a big, strong, capable leader. He spoils Lorthane, respects Evergh, and otherwise devotes his time to fighting, eating, and drinking in no particular order. He is not particularly fascinated with females, so he has far more control over Lorthane than she realizes.

Magsaid dislikes Sulveig and would be pleased to do him a bad turn but otherwise has little in the way of personal ambitions, preferring to be skilled at the position he holds rather than striving to acquire a better one. He does not have a particularly high opinion of Sythillis, either, but bows to the current necessity of keeping the Orge Mage “king” happy.
