Bio
Vermillion grew up in the back alleys of Tarrish, a League port city. His parents were day laborers. His mother had some skill as a seamstress, but not enough for steady work, and his father was a dock steward, in charge of a team loading and unloading cargo until an accident knocked some sense from his head. His strong back became his greatest asset, but we still squatted in abandoned buildings and survived with the help of alms from a few temples.
Traegar’s gang of bullies and thugs ruled the alleys then. Bryan (for that is his birth name) found them slow-witted and clod-footed and his mouth was probably faster than it should have been. He was caught a few times and limped home, but he becamse very good at moving around unseen and unheard, better at hearing or seeing the goons before they saw him, and even quicker at getting away.
Petty theft was how Vermillion helped his parents. Unattended items, houses left empty, craftsmen’s wares when they weren’t looking all yielded up some small treasure or some food. Traegar and two of his goons caught him after he pilfered a wheel of cheese. they threatened harm to my parents unless I stole for them. That very night, he went up a wall, through an open window and returned with a small perfume bottle and a rosewood box.
After the goons left, Vermilion was accosted by someone even better at hiding than he was. Kaz worked for the Nightsong Guild, a band of people who get hired to design and test merchant’s and noble’s security. Kaz always kept his eyes open for new talent, and apparently, Vermilion was it.
They trained him, moved his family out of the alleys, and put him to work. JUst before the campaign began, he had a little trouble retrieving an item that was stolen and decided to gain more training with weapons.
