Guardian Stone
Gargoyles on the go
Author: Davalian
Category: jewelry
Game System: D&D (3.5)
Is Public?: Yes
Is Visible?: Yes
Description
This is a small polished stone with a large sigil carved into the face of it. At first glance it appears just to be a rune of some sort, but upon closer inspection it radiates a faint blue aura. A detect magic spell will see a minor abjuration aura and a strong transmutation aura.
When activated, the stone creates an invisible intangible field. Any creature with hostile intentions crossing the 50foot radius will trigger the transportation spell. Upto 3 large “non-living” objects can be called by the stone to it’s current location, as per a Word of Recall.
Spells Used in Creation: Alarm, Word of Recall Market Price: 32,000gp + Gargoyles or other objects to be summoned.
Backstory
The first of these stones were developed by the Craulnober family, given to their trusted sons and daughters to protect them on their journeys. The castle also kept their own stones which could retrieve the Gargoyles should they ever be called. Many old elvish families now have similar stones and guardians.
Some very cautious wizards and courtiers have also been known to use these stones to transport large and expensive objects from castle to castle.
