I’m approaching my 30th year of gaming and DMing/Storytelling. The games on my GM list are mostly “in-production.” [Edit: I recently took down more than half the list.] Some of them are refinements of campaigns I’ve run in the past. Others are new ideas that I am preparing for the next group that’s looking for a game. I think Obsidian Portal is a fabulous tool for collecting and sharing such ideas, even for generating interests in campaigns not yet ready to play.
My current major project is Hogwarts 1990, a game played with a rules system of my own design. It is a campaign that is actually three different games (three groups of players). I am a Harry Potter fan, as are quite a few of my friends, and this game gives us a chance to tell the Hogwarts story from the perspective of the other three Houses.
I have a lot of D&D 4e campaigns in production but I’m also looking forward to D&D Next. I remember when I decided that Dungeons & Dragons was so inferior a game system that I would never use it again. I played Ars Magica and other systems for quite a while. But I stopped shunning D&D with the third edition. It saved the franchise, and fourth edition continued innovating. At heart, D&D is my game, the system I intend to use for most of my campaigns.
