Roondari always knew he didn’t fit in with the other children of the streets, they would play pranks on him when he was younger due to his lack of reading and writing skills. Roo was slow to learn what the teachers tried telling him.
Roo was always interested in the fields, the animals and hopefully seeing a unicorn or walking treant one day. His love for nature was supported by his mother, who insisted that Roondari was in fact a druid, or very much like ones she had heard of, as they have never met one.
Time with his mother was spent learning about the animals and plants around the houses in Korvosa leading naturally to spending times at stables. It was when he realised that he understood what the animals wanted and how to remove the unwanted rats, snakes and stirges a career in the stables was assured.
