AD&D: World of Axunupdated
I grew up in Seattle, Wa., and moved to Los Angeles to go to college. I’ve been here ever since.
I started playing Basic D&D sometime around 1979. My friends and I “moved up” to AD&D in the early 80s, and immediately began adapting the system to suit our needs. Official versions have come and gone, and we’ll steal an innovation if it strikes us, but our very modified version of original AD&D is still the best game system, 30 years later.
Our gaming sessions run Friday nights in View Park (near Inglewood). We hang out on my patio, barbecue, and game. Campaigns tend to be lower level — in our main gaming world, a 3rd level character is a solid bad ass, and a 5th level character would generally be fatal to cross…
