I am a long time P&P game master and player with over twenty years. Like many people I started out playing AD&D (Late 1st Ed/Early 2nd Ed), then got introduced to a variety of other systems. I’ve even collected different RPG systems (currently over 200 of them), though many I’ve never played.
Some notable systems I’ve played with are:
- D&D (1st-4th Editions)
- Palladium’s Rift system (Not recently)
- BESM (Big Eyes Small Mouth)
- GURPS (3rd and 4th Ed)
- Eclipse Phase (A favorite for it’s licence)
There are far more, but those are the first ones that come to mind for games I’ve played or run. I tend to prefer systems that allow customization and no fixed set of levels or skills one is stuck taking, and advantage to non-D20 BESM, GURPS, and Eclipse Phase over the others I’ve listed.
As you can see by looking at my list of campaigns, I often have to many ideas. These days also far to few players to go with them.
Most recently I’ve also started an open source RPG system called ORPS which anyone can work with. I’m slowly converting all my old games to this new system.
