Have played D&D in many forms throughout my life, but most campaigns I’ve run have been mostly centered around combat. With the discovery of Obsidian Portal, I found an opportunity to try and run a mostly role-playing campaign. It is based entirely on the forums, text messaging, and email.
I decided to use the Heroes system as it lent itself to the type of campaign I wanted to run. The point system allowed me to start our ‘heroes’ out as simple commoners, and for them to grow in various directions not dictated by the strict levels of D&D.
I’ve played the Heroe system several times and have always enjoyed it, but the complexity of it was always a turn off for my friends. With the use of OP, hopefully it will be easier for them, and they can lead their character in whatever direction they want.
