I’ve been playing RPG’s since my cousin showed me a Grenadier miniature of a troglodyte. When I asked what is that used for he showed me the red and blue boxes of D&D. Since then I’ve been hooked, playing all the games that came out after them, AD&D, Top Secret, Boot Hill, Hero, Star Jammer (yes, I tried it twice), Star Frontier, etc. Though I’ve play all of them at least once, Shadowrun has always been my favorite. It seems to have captured my own personal thoughts during social studies, “Well what if magic was prevalent in the here and now, and what would it affect?”
I’ve played in many states and with many people, but I have a solid group of friends in California that I consider my first “gaming group.” Now that I’ve back to Chicago, I’ve met a great group of people that I consider my second “gaming group,” and imagine my surprise when not one of them played Shadowrun before. Now we got a great session going on with other member of the group running other systems: Vampire, D&D 3.5 (Oberron), and now Star Wars.
It’s good to be a gamer with a good group.
