GamerDude's Bio

Retired USAF NYC Native, Lifetime gamer and RPG player since 1981. Al has played around the world including South Korea and Egypt. He has been a top game demonstrator for many companies.

Al believes that all games are fun, are meant to be fun, even while you’re battling for the win. As a GM and demonstrator it’s all about giving everyone a good time. If you’re not having fun, why bother.

Al has been a gamer all his life, growing up in a house that was always playing some board or card game. If you ever wondered what it is like to play a game of ‘Crazy-8s’ with 15 or so people and three decks of cards shuffled together, just ask him (it was a big extended family).

Joining the US Air Force in 1981 he was introduced to 1st Edition AD&D, and there weren’t that many books for it, about four or five. In 1982 he was stationed in South Korea and introduced to many other games like Classic Traveller (CT), Champions 1st Ed, Chivalry & Sorcery (C&S), Space Opera, etc. Over the years he has run campaigns in CT, C&S, Space Opera, Star Frontiers, 1st Ed, GURPS 3rd and 4th, D&D 3.x, Mongoose Traveller, HackMaster. hBesides GMing He has also played in pretty much all of these systems.

Al has been a demonstrator for such companies as Kenzer & Company (Hackmaster), Columbia Games (Wizard Kings) AEG (Spycraft/Shadowforce Archer), Hero Games (Hero System 5th Ed), Twilight Creations (Zombies!!), Mongoose Publishing (Conan d20, Dragon Warriors, Traveller), and Wizards of the Coast (D&D 3.5 and 4th Ed) covering numerous other games from these companies.

In a typical year Al runs events at Radcon, Gamestorm, Miscon, Spocon, Dragonflight, Radcon Game Day, and Conquest Oregon. He enjoys being at these cons to run games and appreciates their kind & friendly staff. He has had great success and enjoys running at local game stores helping to promote products they sell.

Al currently resides in Spokane, Washington (USA) a town he affectionately calls “Spodunk”. Al is married to his lovely wife Wilma.
