Started gaming in elementary school with the Moldvay version of Basic Dungeons and Dragons. Soon AD&D, Top Secret, and Star Frontiers followed. Other publishers had their offerings as well, Pacesetter’s Chill and West End Games’ Star Wars and Ghostbusters. Rolemaster and MERP, Ars Magica and Vampire, Shadowrun and Space 1889, D&D 2nd, 3rd, 3.5 4.0, Pathfinder and others.1
It all ended a few years ago when I moved from my old home town. Kids, family, demographics and many gamers’ notoriously insular habits seem to have stalled my gaming of late.
Now I’m backing Kickstarter’s for FATE Core, getting Ashen Stars in a pdf bundle with Night’s Black Agents, and Dresden Files RPG is waiting for a chance to go into play. I go to a local con every year and thank to the internet I’ve played Fiasco with people I’ve never met in person. My pre-New Year’s resolution is to make the effort to get out there and game again.
1 Not a comprehensive list. I just realized I missed Earthdawn and Traveller, but I think You get the idea. Oh and GURPs, Tales of the Floating Vagabond. Nearly forgot Unisystem (Witchcraft mostly). And Twilight 2000.
