I never know what to write here or even how to phrase it so here goes. . .Don’t judge me. . .
I’m a Masters student at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, after having majored in English Literature and Classical Civilisations and have my Honours in English Literature. I love to read and am an aspiring writer, having taken part in NaNoWriMo the last 4 years running. I have aspirations of becoming a publisher/editor of novels but we will see how far that goes.
I’m an avid gamer particularly in the Tabletop RPG category. I was the Head of RPG in the Rhodes Gaming Society (GameSoc) 2008-2009, vice 2009-2010 and head of the RPG section 2010-2011. I am an active DM, never running less than 2 games at any given time. I can run just about any D20 system but my heart will forever belonging to DND 3.5. I have even created my own setting named Alendi and am currently running a game in that world 2 years in the works. I am also the forerunner DM in both old and new World of Darkness.
I like to sit arbing in coffee shops for hours and sometimes whole days; doing work, chilling with friends and (quite shockingly) drinking coffee. There is an outdoor coffee shop named Mad Hatters and we sit there usually because it if one of two locations in Grahamstown that lets me indulge in another passion, smoking hubbly. (I’m under no delusions about the health risks etc. I just like the taste better than that of cigars or cigarettes.)I also think that in the interests of full disclosure, you should know that I have been a Pagan for the last 10 years now.
The other section of my life is that of my house. I’m one of those rare people who love to cook, bake, sew, knit, crochet, decoupage, and make pretty things for my house and me. Contrary to the belief of my friends and housemates, I do not take joy in cleaning but I do in a clean and presentable house and I know no one is going to clean it for me so I manifest a love of cleaning.
I think that is about all . . . oh and you will come to know and either love or hate my small obsession with ellipses . .
