Played Basic and Advanced D&D during the early ‘80s while in school. My group consisted of classmates. We had some really good times playing the game and I credit it with enhancing the mental image making ability that serves me so well in my current employ. After I left school I left D&D behind for a long time. A co-worker of mine was speaking with a friend of his and the subject came up. We made arrangements to get together and I would have a character in their next campaign. That didn’t work out so well. They were extreme role players as I found out. They even dressed the part. I wasn’t into that so I excused myself from the group.
I met Mnagel through a sports activity we share and once again the subject of D&D came up. I needed an escape at that time to get over the stresses of work and personal life. Mnagel allowed me to fill in for other players here and there. When one of their party moved away I fit right in. I’ve had the pleasure of catching the tail end of D&D v.3.5 and the intro and current development of v4. The guys in this party most closely resemble the bunch I played with when I was younger. The miniatures and grid board we use are alot more practical than dressing the part and don’t give the heebee jeebees the way that other group did. I look forward to playing each week and am really impressed with the circle of friends I have made. Thank you Mnagel, Wells, Saltmania, Reavlin and Redlan for accepting me into your group.
