I cut my teeth on Second Edition D&D during high school, dabbling now and then in Cyberspace. I went on gaming hiatus during college (though I was in the SCA for a few years). Once in the workforce, I was introduced to WotC Star Wars. My short stints as GM convinced the others in my group that my devious mental energies should be directed to running a SpyCraft game, which I did for several years. I have GM'd several-session story arcs in D&D 3rd Edition, D20 Modern, and Lord of the Rings. Having played GURPS for many years (cheating on my local gaming group!), I have finally convinced them to try it out. So begins my first experiment GMing in GURPS (4th Ed.), which I'm hoping to use OP to make easier.

Besides GMing, I have enjoyed playing in a variety of systems and genres: Star Wars (any time period), supes (using Deeds Not Words and currently Mutants and Masterminds), Firefly/Serenity 'Verse (using D20 Modern/Future rules). Somehow I have ended up with the reputation of being a rulebook myself, even though what I like best about role playing is immersing oneself in a character and world not our own. I tend to run realistic games rather than highly-cinematic ones.

For gaming comics, my current favorite is Order of the Stick.
