I’m in my early 20’s, moved from Los Angeles, CA to Austin about 2 years ago after graduating from art school to start my first job in the video game industry. I don’t get to play in or run as many rpg games as I’d like; but I try to keep up with the newest gaming material that is being released, read articles and advice on gaming from sites, blogs and forums, listening to audio recordings of actual plays of different groups and gaming vicariously through them, even finding/developing stories and plots for various games that I’d like to someday like to run some day.
I started off gaming with the D&D game with friends during college, listened to a lot of actual play recordings which eventually got me into playing some more small-press and free-form games at dragon’s lair after arriving in Austin. I was a part of a Burning Wheel group for a bit, until joining a Mage: the Ascension game that only recently came to a halt. I’m interested in most of the New World of Darkness game lines, Call of Cthulhu, Wild Talents, and various smaller games with interesting hooks and ideas.
I’m a bit reserved at first when it comes to playing in new game settings or playing with new people. I try to get a feel for the tone and play style of the game, what to do and not do; but I’m there to have fun and what other to enjoy themselves too, playing off of each other to to make memorable moments.
