I have loved D&D since the day I first heard of it – before that I had loved fantasy books. Now I love both with a powerful drive that keeps me coming back to D&D no matter how far I stray.
I am currently running an iteration of a campaign setting I developed in high school. IT has many elements taken from Tolkien and Cook, blended into a weird hybrid; however, since finishing college and getting my MA in medieval studies, I have also striven to add an element of greyness to the world. No more vastly epic villains with no motivation for me, oh no. Hopefully the narrative structure of the setting has become much more complex.
I must also give a nod towards the wonderful Ed Greenwood and his Realmslore which has consistently awed and inspired me throughout my gaming. I must also thank the Planescape team for creating what may be the most complex roleplaying setting (and most philosophical) ever devised.
